As Bosnia was part of ex-Yugoslavia, where the state had more or less strong negative influence about practising religion, now there need to grow the whole new generation which hasn´t any experiment about such influence or maybe more than one generation before people learn to practice Islam again. We shouldn´t be too judging as they have had different environment where being openly religious might not been socially respected.

I met Bosnians at the first time when they came to my country during the war as refugees. Being part of group of human right workers was strange expirement when I was revert with hijab and Bosnian sisters were born Muslims and none of them had hijab at all but very western-style clothing. Also after that when I have met some Bosnians, they never talk about religious matters. Well, some maybe, I don´t want to generalize but I just talk about what I have experienced.

Are you giving dawah to your family members...?
Its very hard to approach people with Islamic knowledge, people are very misguided here, their thought of Islam is completly wrong and different from the truth.
So unfortunately I dont invest that much effort into that
Sura al Baqarah
[h=2]Indeed, those who disbelieve - it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe.''[/h]

Their misconceptions and wrong opinions are due to prevalent false propaganda against Islam but it's our duty to make them known to Islamic teachings. I understand it's a tough job for you. At least you can do dua for their hidaya. Invite them to join islamicboard if feasible.

Well said

Today is the 22nd anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre. I was 14 back then and remember the event from the news. Some evil people slayed thousands of Muslims in front of their non-Muslim protectors. That must mean something to us...

I remember it too. I had said shahada just few months ago and it felt real bad to see how the world treated my new sisters and brothers.

After that I worked in human right workers group which also helped Bosnian refugees as I wanted to do my part to help them.
