Assalamu alaykum

I have come across many sites which claim to promote Islam and unsuspectingly, I had begun to read their articles, etc. till I realised that it was not really "Islamic". I had a particularly disturbing experience, when I had just began to explore Islam. It seemed that the site was very "moderate" and I had begun to read their articles. I also downloaded the translation of the Holy Quran from their site. It was after I learnt that it was missing two verses and that they were removed on some ridiculous ground, that I stopped visiting the site.

So can anyone pleas give me a list of a few websites which are Islamic, which donot deal with any sectarian stuff? Which are the sites which are NOT Islamic and still come up on googling Islam?

Thank you in advance.

Assalamu alaykum.

Here is the Islam folder in my brower bookmarks. I think there is atleast one sectarian website there(HaqChaarYaar in the uncategorisables section :) ) but there rest should be fine. Some good websites in there.

Download the file and double click to open. If you want to add them to your own favourites and don't know how, just ask. :)

just out of curiosity though, what ayahs were not there?

Thanx for the bookmarks and the links. I imported them all right :) Will check out the websites soon. Thanx again.

Well,in the website I was visiting the verses 9:128 and 9:129 are missing in their translations. Because they believe that the pagans corrupted the Holy Quran and added those verses. And they reject the Hadiths and Sunnah cause they "idolise" Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This website was the first site I visited that remotely dealt with Islam and ofcourse assumed that it was "Islam". Thankfully, I grew wiser when I read that they were rejecting verses from the Holy Quran cause their "Mathematical Miracle" wouldn't hold up otherwise.

Jazakallah for sharing the links.

I understand that some websites will tend to promote ideas specific to a sect, but what I am trying to avoid is visiting sites which exist solely for the purpose of proving that the others are disbelievers and that they alone are true Muslims.

Jazakallah for the links. Well, earlier I didn't know of enough Islamic web-sites and now I know so many:) It will take me some time to browse through all of them and I think these are enough to keep me occupied for the next few weeks:)

Assalamu alaikum.
