Is it true that while your doing istikhara (7 days etc) your not supposed to speak to or stay in touch phone text etc with the person u want to marry until after u have got a clear sign?

Firstly sister - you shouldn't be in contact with the person whom you are looking to marry via phone, text etc.

In the case of Istikhara nothing is mentioned with regards to this perhaps because contact between the two of you should be in the presence of your wali.
