Eve of Aafia Siddiqui’s Sentencing

Followed by Iftar, Taraweeh prayer and 24 Hour vigil

Nearest Station: Marble Arch
On August 16th 2010, Aafia Siddiqui will be sentenced in the US for a crime she did not commit. In a final stand, join the Justice for Aafia Coalition (JFAC) for a rally outside the US embassy to protest 7 years of detention and abuse, and the impending threat of a life sentence in prison. Dedicated campaigners will remain overnight in a 24 hour vigil.

Qiyaam (night prayers) will be led by former prisoner Faraj Hassan Alsaadi. Faraj Hassan is a haafidh al-Qur'aan who studied riwayah Qaalun 'an Naafi' in Libya and thereafter travelled to Pakistan where he obtained ijaaza in the Riwayah of Hafs 'an 'Aasim and studied the riwayah of Khalaf 'an Hamza. He is currently still studying the remainder of the Qira'aat.
