Muslims around the globe will enjoy the blessed month of Ramadhan in the security of their homes with the company of friends and family. However, Pakistani neuroscientist Dr Aafia Siddiqui will spend her 9th year in total isolation in a Texas prison facility. She will complete her Ramadhan alone, and spend her 'Eid alone.
But just who is Aafia? What is her story, and why was she sentenced to an unprecedented 86 years in September 2010 for a crime she never committed? What happened in those 7 years of detention and abuse?
Join us for a fundraising Iftar event with Qur'an recitation, inspirational talks, bringing in insight into her story, and also a chance to write directly to Aafia with our new Ramadhan and Eid greeting postcards. Learn what you can do to help her.
