Allah says, speaking about the inhabitants of Paradise,
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَنْثُورًا
"There will circulate among them boys of everlasting youth. When you see them, you would think them to be scattered pearls!" (Al-Qur'an)
The companion, ‘Abdullah Ibnu ‘Amr, said,
“Every inhabitant of paradise will be served by 1000 servants, each servant doing something different to the other”
Don't allow that to pass without thought. For if you and I were asked to write a list of all the ways in which we wish to be served, we could probably list 50 ways. If we really stretch our imagination however, perhaps we may list 100 tops!
One servant prepares the food, a second pours your drink, a third serves the dessert, the fourth prepares your beddings and couches .. what else?
But .. 1000 servants, serving people in 1000 *different* ways?!
Ah, this means that in Jannah, there are pleasures which cannot be perceived and service which transcends imagination!
Furthermore, in the Ayah above, Allah uses the expression, “Yatoofu 'alaihim”/ "there will *circulate* among them" In other words, these servants are not lazy in the least, but they're alert, on call, serving the inhabitants of Paradise with tremendous enthusiasm.
They're also described as being like "scattered pearls"
'Scattered' .. They're all over the place, delivering, serving, guiding, carrying, pouring, scooping, transporting ..
'Pearls' .. The purity of their appearances will not be blemished by their hard work, but their freshness remains eternal, just how pearls are always kept spotless.
There is a question however which imposes itself upon us at this point:
= If all what you read above is simply the description of the servants ..
Then imagine for a moment the beauty of those who are being served.
