Why do we cry,
When nothing is wrong?
Why do we laugh,
When nothing is funny?
Why do we yell,
When the other person can hear and isnt in the wrong?
But stay quiet,
When the other person needs to listen and is in the wrong?
Why do we complain
When we remember that we could have more?
Why do we praise
The things that we forget to expect?
Why do we live in dreams
When we need to wake up?
Why do we wake up
When our dreams aren’t being lived?
Why do we listen
When shaytan is whispering?
Why do we turn away
When the truth is calling?
Why do we form our fists
When we want something
But open our hands
When we need something?
Why do we accept
When our friends suggest
But think twice
About what our parents advise?
Why do we depart
When something bad happens
But have patience
When something good happens?
Why is it believable
that luck comes from a charm
but unbelievable
that rizq comes from Allah?
Why are we able to put money
Into a cash register
where it will be used for taxes and war
But giving charity to what we caused
doesn’t cross our minds?
Why do we want love from others
But have a hard time giving it?
Why do we trust the world will take care of us in the future
But forget that it was Allah that has brought you this far?
Why do we act as if we are judges of others
When we have faults to judge in ourselves?
Why do we concern ourselves in others lives
When we have enough in our own lives to be concerned with?
Why do we limit ourselves to humans
And never consider being something greater ?
