Listening to music

Hello everybody!!!!!!
I would really like to ask you that we listen to music mostly [including me], but I heard that it is haraam in Islam. Is it true? And I would also like to ask that we all really enjoy listening to it.
How can we stop doing this act if it really is haraam????
