Look at a singl Arabic word giving you different meanings according to pronunciation

Have a look at the above table, it contains a single word but it has different meanings according to pronunciation .. well, the red characters you see are called "Tashkeel" which makes the pronunciation differers as you can see .. isn't that amazing? :)

However I do have a question Bro. It's gonna sound silly but, you know there's texts where there's no Tashkeel yeah? Say if them 3 letters were in a sentence where there's no Tashkeel within the sentence (as some texts I've seen are like that), then how would a person know which word is being used? Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question....

well, the only thing i can think of is for you to learn the grammar of Arabic.
you'd also have to understand the word in its context. and i also suggest for you to learn how to write. this way, it sort of gives you a different look t the language, i know that sound weird but you'll know inshallah when you do it yourself. (sorry, im really bad at explaining things). i remember when i started to learn, i just got someone to read out three lettered words. then i would write them. thins is assuming that you know the basics of arabic.

its **** hard for those of us who dnt know arabic...its so hard to read the quran properly coz of this...well for me anyway..

i can read the quran..but its hard for me to grasp the pronounciation and other rules...coz i dnt have enuf time to practice:-[

i know that is neglectant of me,...but i wasnt brought up reading quran like that..my younger brother is studying to be a hafeez...he reads beautiful...i ahve many ppl that i live with etc who read quran perfect, regardless of the fact that they dnt know arabic...so its actually my fault...

i have alot of ppl to assist me...thank u sister maryam...but, i think it will be hard over the net...and i barely have the time...u know how busy i am...:thankyou:

i promise to try harder tho...i have promised before ...but never live up to it...

please pray for me...

It doesn't sound like a stupid question at all :)
As maryam11 explained, it's all about grammar and context .. I've been writing and reading Arabic for about 18 years and I never needed to use Tashkeel to make anyone understand clearly :)

it actually gets a little frustrating wrting up the tashkeel all the time. i know someone who has just started writing, and she finds writhing the tashkeel quite frustrating (her teacher likes her to write the tashkeel). so thats a begginner, what about someone who writes arabic all the time?

Maybe her teacher has a point or that's the teacher's way of teaching the beginners :)

There's a book thats based on this; (words that look the same but with different tashkeel carry different meanings). I think the book was called "Muthallathul Qutrub"? anyone know of it?
It was compiled into a Qaseedah and then that Qaseedah was Explained (Shuri7a).

The key to recognizing the correct word; is to know & understand the language itself.

It's my first time to hear about it, but here's a link for 2 documents in Arabic .. Nozom Muthalath Qurtub by Maghrby and Bahnsy
 
JazaakAllaah khair akhee. ive been looking for that Nadhm for absolutely aages. A7sanAllaahu ilayk.

It'd be really beneficial if you were to have a read through inshaAllaah, Although Ive noticed that the abyaat are'nt in order, particularly the first Shatr.

مثلث قطرب - قصيدة غنية عن التعريف تعتبر بحق من أهم ما قيل في اللغة العربية و هي طويلة نوعا ما و لكن الفائدة منها كبيرة.

و القصيدة هي بهذا الشكل: في كل بيت من أبيات هذه القصيدة كلمة استخدمها الشاعر ثلاث مرات، مرة بالفتح و مرة بالكسر و مرة بالضم .
على سبيل المثال في مطلع هذه القصيدة :
إن دموعي غمر و ليس عندي غمر فقلت ياذا الغمر أقصر عن التعتب

و هذه الأبيات مدمجة بشرح ابن زريق، فبعد كل بيت يشرح ابن زريق الكلمات التي ذكرت ثلاث مرات و يساعدك في فهم معانيها. ​

بالفتح خوف الباس *** والكسر شعر الراس *** والضم جمع الناس *** ما بين شخ وصبي

الريق منه كالزَّجاج *** ولحظه يحكي الزِّجاج *** والقلب مني كالزُّجاج *** واد سريع العطب

زاد كثيرا في اللَّحَى *** من بعد تقصير اللِحى *** لما رأى شيب اللُحى*** صرم حبل النسب

بالفتح قول العذل *** والكسر لحي الرجل *** والضم شعرات تلي *** لحي الفتى والأشيب

سار مجدا في الملا *** وأبحر الشوق ملا *** ولبسه من الملا *** فقلت يا للعجب

بالفتح جمع البشر *** والكسر ماء الأبحر *** والضم ثوب العبقري *** مرصع بالذهب

شاكلني بالشكل *** تيمني بالشكل *** وغلني بالشكل *** في حبه والحزب

بالفتح مثل المثل *** والكسر حسن الدل *** والضم قيد البغل *** خوفا من التوثب

صاحبني في صرتي *** في ليلة ذي صرة *** وما بقي في صرتي *** خردلة من ذهب

ضمنته نبت الكلا *** بالحفظ مني والكلا *** فسد قلبي والكلا *** عمدا ولم يراقب

ورث ضعفا بالقرى *** منها معان بالقرى *** وذاك في غير القرى *** فكيف عند العرب

من لي بأصل الظلم *** أو اصطياد الظلم *** ما عنده من ظلم *** ولا مقال الكذب

بالفتح للأسنان *** وللنعام الثاني *** والظلم للإنسان *** مجلبة للغضب

كالقطر جود كفه ***والقطر سيل حتفه *** والقطر ماء أنفه *** وخده للذهب

بالفتح ضيف سكبا *** والكسر صهر ذو إبا *** والضم عود جلبا *** من عدن في المركب

لما رأيت دله *** وهجره ومطله *** رضيت من حبي له *** مثلثا لقطرب

وابن زريق نظما ***شرحا لما تقدما ***فربما ترحما ***عليه أهل الأدب

أديت فيه واجبي *** في خدمة المخالب *** أحمد ذي المواهب *** وذي الوجارالطيب

من جاءه وأمله *** ينال منه أمله *** يسعد من قد وصله *** من أهل علم الأدب

إما لبحث بحثه *** أو لاختراع أحدثه *** في شرح ذي المثلثة *** بلفظه المهذب

مصليا مسلما *** على النبي كلما *** رقرق برق أو هما *** بالودق مجري السحب
