My dear friends,
I've been reading a book about Saudi Arabia, and was quite struck when I read that Makkah and Medina are exits right off the Trans-Arabian Highway. How wonderful that must be! For a Jew, it is like a dream come true - I can only imagine how it would feel if the Beith ha-Miqdash was an exit off of, say, Kevish Sheish (or any other highway for that matter).
I was wondering how it feels, as a Muslim, to have that kind of incorporation of the Kaaba - a holy place which might very well be the center of Muslim spirituality - within the infrastructure of modern Muslim society. Is it like a dream come true?
