marriage age

:wasalam:

When I was 18 I absolutely didn't want to have girlfriend although I knew many girls. I prefer to active in my hobby and doing fun activities with my male friends.

The right way to prevent bf/gf relationship among the youth is not through force them to get married in young age. But teach them to be able to control their desire to have partner until they are ready to get married.

:)

Exactly !

I think the problem now is having too much free time, and it's not necessarily marriage. Having too much free time is allowing shaytan to guide your feelings and steer you away. If you like to study, learn, read, garden, have friends who like to do similar things, you won't have time for a haram relationship. Lol

I agree 100%.

This particularly applies to students in high schools and college, subhanAllah there is way too much work to have time for a relationship (if you're doing it properly, that is). I was once sitting at the exam centre, speaking to some other girls, and then the all time favourite topic crops up, so when they stared at me in horror when I said I'd never had a boyfriend and neither did I want one, my justification was that Islam forbids it and I honestly didn't have the time nor energy at the moment to handle it, lol.

The shaytaan really does play with idle minds and hands.

Actually that's not because those boys have much free time, but because they have low self confidence.

Pop culture always depict the cool teen boy as a boy who be liked by the girls, and has a girl. It encourage the boys to have girlfriend because they want to be cool. If one of them has a girl, it could encourage some of his friends to have girlfriend too because they feel inferior. But if a boy has good self confidence which he feel cool although without girlfriend, he would not feel he need to have girlfriend, but prefer to choose activity that he like.

What is also very true is that is someone, especially a guy, isn't in a relationship with someone of the opposite gender, they are considered to be overly feminine and not 'straight', so to speak.
