my family celebrate the Prophets Muhammad birthday. I just want to know what your reasons on celebrating Milad. It doesnt matter if you dont but I just want to know if there is a reason on why

Milaad is a bid'ah (Innovation) and is not part Islam in any way or form.

The Prophet saws1 said, 'Do not exaggerate my praise as the Christians exaggerate the son of Mary (Jesus). For I am just His (Allah's) slave, so say the slave of Allah and His Messenger.' (narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4/142, no. 3445; al-Fath, 6/551)
