Salaam,

I am half English and half Pakistani and have just recently converted to Islam, so as you can imagine, there is still alot I don't know!? :? Got lots of questions and thought this would be a good place to start....

A lot of this is new for me, so if I say something and you are like, huh, what on earth is that, just ignore me!? :giggling:

welcome to the forum, may Allah make it a means of guidence for you, ameen.

do you have a local new muslim project near you to help you learn salaah or are there sisters in your area who can help you in learning the basics of the deen and to befriend you?

try your local muslim community first but there might well be a sister on here who is in a position to act as a mentor and guide for you also.

Thats what I am struggling with, finding someone to teach me. I have been speaking to a few friends and hopefully something will get sorted soon. Any help on here would be very much appreciated!?

there are new muslim projects in the following cities as far as i am aware...

Leicester - markfield foundation and HQ
Mancester
Blackburn and lancaster
Leeds
Sheffield
London (based at east london masjid if i remember correctly)
southampton

hope this helps, it is best you learn from those local to you though but i would suggest you get your 50 posts quickly so you can post on the sisters section and then insha'allah one of them will live close to you and they can take u in insha'allah.

Thanks for all your replies.

Just want to say I have recetly converted to Islam, not reverted, as I wasn't brought up with a religion, even though my dad is a Muslim. My parents just brought me up to be a decent human being, which is what matters, but I have now decided that this is the path for me.
