Some experts say that these fires were spread by raptors, a very interesting observation as mentioned in the video above.

This reminds me of a Hadith and this explains why crows and kites are said be harmful and are allowed to be killed. This is something prophet ( peace be upon him) has said 1400 years ago and people are only finding out now why these birds were allowed to be killed. Sometimes what Islam teaches may not make sense because our knowledge is limited and it is always best to submit to what Allah and his messenger has told us to do without any hesitation.
And Allah knows the best. The Hadith is as below:
Narrated Aisha:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Five kinds of animals are harmful and could be killed in the Haram (Sanctuary). These are: the crow, the kite, the scorpion, the mouse and the rabid dog."

Doesnt raptor also attack human being?

Quran 22:31
Inclining [only] to Allah, not associating [anything] with Him. And he who associates with Allah - it is as though he had fallen from the sky and was snatched by the birds or the wind carried him down into a remote place.

"Snatched by the birds"

I read this on miracle of Quran website.

JazakAllah khair
