Assalamualaikum

Many of us (including me) believe Islam is only about Reading Salah, Reading Quran, Fasting in Ramzan, Giving Zakat, Sacrifice on Bakrid and Performing Hajj. While these are important part of faith and directly connected to Allah. There are numerous obligations on Muslims which are directed towards family members, neighbors, nature, people of other religions and the complete world to be specific.

I am trying to document almost all of the Obligations on Muslims through my post "Muslim Obligations". While I am giving overview of each obligation in this post, I am also writing in detail about each obligation on my forum section named Muslim Obligations. You can visit this forum and read all obligations in detail. More importantly we all try to implement them in our lives. which will make us not only a good Muslim but also powerful to manage the world just like Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) and the Sahaba.

The Muslim is obligated to obey and follow all Commands from God in the Glorious Quran.

I am among the highest Muslims on the face of this earth, since God chose to Directly Guide me and Teach me, not any human nor angel nor spirit.

Islam is the Truth and I know that Islam is the Truth, and I have completely believed in it.

God as my Witness, by testifying to God and Before God by His Command and Watch.

This is too much for an ordinary human to accept.

I am literally an alien Muslim ;)

To God is my Certain return.

Assalamualaikum!

We Muslims today think, the purpose of being born a Muslim is to pray, study, do job or business, marry, make kids, settle them in career, do hajj and die. If you have performed all this well, you will surely die a good Muslim, but you will not fulfil the important obligation of this Ummah. That is to enjoin good and forbid evil.

Allah has called us the best Ummah for this sole purpose
"You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah." (Surah Aal-E-Imran (3), Ayah 110)

Enjoying good and forbidding evil should be done in all aspects of our lives. Whether it is living with neighbors, school, college, job, business, relationships, kids, elders etc.. Once you start behaving Islamically in all these aspects, only then people will start looking at you as a example and follow you. You can read my article in detail here The Purpose of Muslims

Parenting is not just a biological or social duty but a spiritual responsibility that impacts both this life and the hereafter. Here are the primary duties entrusted to Muslim parents:

1. Providing a Good Name and Upbringing

From birth, parents are responsible for giving their child a good name with a positive meaning. This reflects their identity and character. A proper Islamic upbringing (Tarbiyah) includes teaching good manners, respect, and basic Islamic beliefs.

2. Instilling Faith (Iman) and Worship (Ibadah)

Parents are responsible for educating their children about Tawheed (the Oneness of Allah), the Prophets, the Qur’an, and the foundational pillars of Islam. Encouraging prayer, fasting, and love for Allah from a young age helps build a strong connection with faith.

3. Being Role Models

Children are more influenced by their parents' actions than by their words. A righteous parent who practices Islam sincerely becomes a living example for the child. This encompasses qualities such as honesty, kindness, patience, and humility.
