My new kitten is driving me nuts!!!

i got because i heard pets are therapeutic and can help with anxiety, depression, stress, etc. so far it has caused me stressimsad

Dogs are therepeutic, friendly, cuddly, etc. Especially labs. But they are more work that cats. Cats are not so affectionate, but look after themselves independently once they grow out of kittenhood. Dogs are like dependent loving children. Cats are more like room mates. Myself, I have a dog, and have had him for over 15 years now. He is old now and I am fearful that he won't be alive much longer. It makes me sad thinking about life without his love and support. It is no exaggeration to say that he is my best friend. So yes, very therepeutic.

That said, aren't pets forbidden by Islam?

If you do decide to part ways with her, please take her to an animal shelter. There are plenty of them in your area. Don't just put her out on the street.

Pets arent forbidden in islam :)
Your allowed as many pets as you want proving they are looked after and treated properly

The only pet that would cause some difficulty to have would be a dog, as if the dog is in the house the angels of mercy wont enter
(Which is indeed very sad as i absolutely love dogs and there isnt enough space in the garden to build them a lovely big house so they may go there when i pray etc etc, i just take it as that we dont always get what we want in this life, but in paradise (heaven) il get to have as many beautiful dogs as i want)
So dogs are mainly used as guard dogs, hearding, or hunting for food, not as much as "inside house sleep on bed" type pets among the islamic world

I myself absolutely love animals i have 2 cats and 2 lovebirds i also use to have bearded dragons but i sadly had to let them go :(

I understand how you can feel attachments to "pets" they become one of the family and like your children, my old lovebirds one of them died suddenly and another flew away i cried for days and was very heartbroken

@Dreamchaser

Dear sis how are things going today ?

Hey sis!
I took it over to my sisters house because i honestly couldn't handle all the work and shes less aggressive with my sister...:hmm:maybe she just didn't like me! I made an Ad on Kijiji and two people want it so far. I'm meeting one of them up tomorrow and if they like it, they can have her.

Yep, alhamdulillah pets aren't forbidden in Islam. In fact, it is haraam if we do not provide the animal with food, water, shelter, affection etc, we will be held accountable for the treatment of the animals in our care on the Day of Judgement. So it actually is a big responsibility

There is a hadith in al-Bukhari how a woman locked up a cat, and refused to feed it or let it free, and so her punishment will be torture and hell. Islam is quite clear on the sanctity and dignity of life, for every living creature.

I adore animals myself, they are so sweet and loyal, sometimes they provide more comfort then even other humans. :D I have chickens and lots of little fishes, and each one of them are very much a part of our family - and would be sorely missed if any of them died.

Well it has been a few days so she should have calmed down a bit :)
i think maybe she could sense you was stressed, panicking and didn't really want her and it kinda freaked her out even more as it was a brand new place and she doesnt know you or your smell and well you was just giving off negative vibes tbh (not your fault but cats can sense it n will react to it)
ah i was hoping you would have kept her was looking foward to some lovely pictures of her growing up !!

Whoever you give the cat to please make sure they actually seem like they care for the cats wellbeing, you dont just want to give her to anyone incase they mistreat her or worse, but i am happy that you didnt just let her out on the street :)

I think if your ever going to get pets again get a goldfish ;) no im joking lol get a adult cat they are less work than a kitten and more likely to be litter trained and well i kno in America they have alot of kill shelters so please get one from there and atleast you will be supported and know the background of cat i.e litter trained, what food, its temperment, vaccinations etc plus you would be saving a life and gaining a life long friend :)

All the best for you dear sis :)
