asalamualakum everyone. i have been for the past couple of months trying to find the source of a beautiful hadith i heard from a sermon by an a'alim at our local mosque. the topic was the life of our prophet (pbuh) and the a'alim mentioned a hadith about the companions of the prophet (pbuh) entering jannah. i forgot the exact interpretation but it went something along this line. "the companions asked the prophet, oh prophet of allah (SAW) how do you imagine us all entering jannah together. the prophet replied i will enter jannah first and to my left will be umar, to my right will be abu bakr and behind me will be uthman. the companions were pleased, but then the prophet said, there is one more person i forgot to mention. the companions were surprised. who else could have the honor of entering jannah with the prophet they thought. the prophet replied there will also be bilal and he will be in front of me. the reason for this is because during the times of the prophet bilal would walk in front of the prophet clearing the way and making sure the pathway in which the prophet walked was clear and so that nothing could harm him."
again this is a very loose translation but thats pretty much the bottom line. anyone else heard of this hadith? thank you.
