i left it too late...
its handed in 1st of december......man i seriously need help with the personal statement....erm wot do i exactly do i write....am soo confused?....am panicking...seriously...
any step by step guidelines....help moi inshalah....
anybody else applying for it....i still cant believe am in uni or in my final year...it still hasnt hit me.....am soo lazy man.....am drifting away from work....why?...why am i avoiding it.....why do i feel soo hopeless?.....imsad
A careers adviser told me that if you're applying to teach at a secondary school then the deadline is later than 1st of December...
Did you not have a talk held at your university about teaching or going into teaching? Ours did and the careers people are really good, they check your CV's and personal statement for you and amend them etc.
They also told us that you should have some experience in the teaching that you wanna go into for example i want to go into secondary so I would need experience teaching at a secondary school. D'you see?
And everything's done on the computer, the form and application etc.
Another thing was that for the interview, they ask you about the latest news concerning 'Education' so you have to be up to scratch on the subject, read the Telegraph, the Times etc with the Education section etc.
Hope you don't mind me asking but are you specialising in any subject, because I'm going for Maths and because there's a shortage of Maths teachers, I'll get a big grant too. Money incentives aside (not really ;D), I've heard that English and Maths teachers and Modern Languages teachers are in demand so good luck sis, i'll try and find out more for you.
I have this massive booklet that tells you all you need to know and useful websites, I'll get them down for you and see if the booklet is available elsewhere...
