AS concluded in article , I too feel that Guru Nanak was not Muslim .

Laa ilaaha ill Allaah - There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allaah.

instead of Shahaada , Guru Nanak told Babur


Guru Nanak is reported to have said to Babur:

There are millions of Muhammads, but only one God. The unseen is True and without anxiety.
Many Muhammads stand in His court.
So numberless, they cannot be reckoned.
Prophets have been sent and come into the world.
Whenever He pleaseth, He hath them arrested, and brought before Him.
The slave Nanak hath ascertained,
That God alone is pure and all else is impure


above is totally un islamic , and Kuffar as per Islam


Guru Nanak at Mecca

instead of praying towards, circumambulation around or kissing the Black Stone (hajr al-aswad) of the Ka'bah.

Guru Nanak answered

"Turn my feet in whichever direction God's House is not.

as mentioned above, constitutes Shirk billah (associating partners with Allaah).





Guru Nanak at Baghdad


Nanak also rejected the theological acceptance of the seven samawaat (heavens/ skies) - information that is an integral part to having correct belief in what Allaah has informed Muslims of vis-a-vis the unseen world (al-ghayb):

There are nether worlds beneath nether worlds, and hundreds of thousands of heavenly worlds above.
If you try to write an account of this, you will surely finish yourself before you finish writing it.



Baba Farid and Kabir was also disbeliever

as

He is a disbeliever because he denied that He is up above (fi as-sama). Whoever denies that He is in Heaven has committed blasphemy."

Baba Farid say Creator in Creation


Fareed, the Creator is in the Creation, and the Creation abides in God.
Whom can we call bad? There is none without Him. ||75||Guru Granth sahib

I think it is established with two even more fundamental violations:

1- The prophet -s.a.a.w.- said: "Whomever innovates anything in our religion, it is apostasy. " For Nanak to come up with all these philosophical innovations and fabrications and speak about the prophet Mohammad with dismissive regards to him being the one final prophet and our obligation to follow him, he is not immediately not a muslim.

2- Was he making wudu and praying five times a day?...

It's too simple and I too am surprised that anyone would consider such a man still muslim.

Me, the bard out of work, the Lord has applied to His service.
In the very beginning He gave me the order to sing His praises night and day.
The Master summoned the minstrel to His True Court.
He clothed me with the robe of His true Honour and eulogy.
Since then the True Name has become my ambrosial food.
They, who under the Guru's instruction, eat this food to their satisfaction, obtain peace.
By singing the Guru's hymns, I the minstrel spread the Lord's glory.
Nanak, by praising the True Name I have obtained the perfect Lord.

I do not keep fasts, nor do I observe the month of Ramadaan.

I serve only the One, who will protect me in the end. ||1||

I do not make pilgrimages to Mecca, nor do I worship at Hindu sacred shrines.

I serve the One Lord, and not any other. ||2||

Pūjā kara▫o na nivāj gujāra▫o.
I do not perform Hindu worship services, nor do I offer the Muslim prayers.

I have taken the One Formless Lord into my heart; I humbly worship Him there. ||3||

Nā ham hinḏū na musalmān.
I am not a Hindu, nor am I a Muslim.


It's too simple and I too am surprised that anyone would consider such a man still muslim.

Just by way of clarification, yes, SGGS says that Sikhs do not pray or fast, but that particular cited verse was from Guru Arjun Dev, the fifth Guru, and not Nanak:

one can't differentiate bw the words of Guru Nanak and fifth GURU Arjun dev , infact all Sikh Guru used NANAK as Singnature after each Verse in SGGS ,


lets consider following verse , in starting its mentioned that its by 5th MEHL ( GURU ) but check the last line , it uses word NANAK as author .


ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
Everything is within the home of the self; there is nothing beyond.

ਬਾਹਰਿ ਟੋਲੈ ਸੋ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਹੀ ॥
One who searches outside is deluded by doubt.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਿਨੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
By Guru's Grace, one who has found the Lord within is happy, inwardly and outwardly. ||1||

ਝਿਮਿ ਝਿਮਿ ਵਰਸੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਧਾਰਾ ॥
Slowly, gently, drop by drop, the stream of nectar trickles down within.

ਮਨੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
The mind drinks it in, hearing and reflecting on the Word of the Shabad.

ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਕਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
It enjoys bliss and ecstasy day and night, and plays with the Lord forever and ever. ||2||

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ॥
I have now been united with the Lord after having been separated and cut off from Him for so many lifetimes;

ਸਾਧ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਸੂਕਾ ਹਰਿਆ ॥
by the Grace of the Holy Saint, the dried-up branches have blossomed forth again in their greenery.

ਸੁਮਤਿ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਏ ਮੇਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
I have obtained this sublime understanding, and I meditate on the Naam; as Gurmukh, I have met the Lord. ||3||

ਜਲ ਤਰੰਗੁ ਜਿਉ ਜਲਹਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
As the waves of water merge again with the water,

ਤਿਉ ਜੋਤੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥
so does my light merge again into the Light.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕਟੇ ਕਿਵਾੜਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਹੋਈਐ ਜਉਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੯॥੨੬॥
Says Nanak, the veil of illusion has been cut away, and I shall not go out wandering any more. ||4||19||26||

True, it does use the word Nanak, but do you know that all the 9 Gurus thereafter used the signature Nanak individually to show their reverence and connection to him?
That is why they are referred often by many Sikh scholars as Nanak II, Nanak III, Nanak IV, Nanak V, Nanak VI... Nanak X.
This point is made well by Daljeet Singh in his book: Sikhism: A Comparative Study of its Theology and Mysticism.

Sikhz feel that All Sikh Guru s Use same signature NANAK in SGGS,as it Divine revealation , Gurus have no control over Words they use ...

Ji▫o bulāvhu ṯi▫o Nānak ḏās bolai. ||8||21||
As You inspire him to speak, O Lord, so does servant Nanak speak. ||8||21||

ਜਿਉ ਬੋਲਾਏ ਤਿਉ ਬੋਲੀਐ ਜਾ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਸੋਇ ॥
I speak just as He makes me speak, when He Himself makes me speak.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
The Word of the Gurmukh is God Himself. Through the Shabad, we merge in Him.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਤੂ ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੩੦॥੬੩॥
O Nanak, remember the Naam; serving Him, peace is obtained. ||4||30||63||

That's certainly true. They do believe that the same divine, eternal Jott (light) permeates all the Gurus.

Our clarification was in respect to the subject of direct proof from Guru Nanak vis-a-vis those Muslims who tend to separate Guru Nanak from the other subsequent Gurus and Sikhism per se. Hence, the reason for the clarification, i.e. your citation could be rejected by someone with such a leaning on the basis that Guru Nanak didn't say that.

Another pt which i feel is about Music .


Islam view music as haram , satanic origin . there is one Hidayat which say Prophet was against Music infact changed the path where music was played while walking .

on other side Mardana a rabab player always accompanied Guru Nanak on travels , infact before each hymn in SGGS its musical composition Raag is mentioned as

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

Maajh is name of raaga , SGGS is indexed acc to 31 raagas .


and music is considered very Powerful n uplifting tool
