Nifaaq: Only in this Ummah or in the previous Ummahs too...

As Salaam Alikum,
Just wondering if the illness of Nifaaq- Hypocrisy is found only in this Ummah or it was there in the ones which has passed before us???
As the human brain/heart (Qalb) evolved, the illnesses which it gets effected by also gets evolved...:-[ imsad

Claiming to be a muslim but inside you are not a muslim, i.e, by heart.

The true believer does not lie, betray or intend to break a promise that he has vowed to maintain and uphold. Only a person of low morals from amongst the hypocrites harbours these traits as a part of his character makeup. Each of these abominable attributes is in fact an important characteristic used often by the Munafiq.

Anas (ra) reports that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:
“Three (characteristics) if they are found (in an individual) then he is a Munafiq even if he (is seen) fasting and praying and says, ‘I am a Muslim.’ If he speaks he lies, if he promises he breaks his promise and if he is entrusted he betrays the trust.”
