Good evening.
I am Jewish and very much committed to bridge-building efforts. It is not at all unusual for my wife and I to find ourselves at some interfaith event at one of the nearby muslim centers. This is the context for my question.
It is my understanding that it is prohibited for a Muslim to initiate a greeting of salaam to a non-Muslim and that, furthermore, there is some discussion about how a Muslim should respond to such a greeting if initiated by a non-Muslim. With this in mind, what might be the preferred way (the most respectful way) for me as a Jew to greet you? Thanks.
