Parents should realize that their children are
individual human beings with their own goals,
ideas, likes, dislikes and personalities. Children
are not extensions of oneself.
A parent's duty is to guide their child to be
good Muslims, and let them choose their own
path in this world as long as it is Halal.
Forcing one's own goals, desires and
expectations on a child is wrong, and creates
far more problems than it could possibly solve.
