U dont have to sell urself. You have to just try damn hard and the only way 2 do that is.....remember Allah at all times.

Im doing bio, physics and chem....Ppl sed to me....'Your not gona be able to juggle all three sciences.'
My uncle sed:' U wont pass ur physics assignments if u have a C in science.' Little did he know that I was determined and little did he know that though I got C, it was the highest I cud get in my intermidaite teir (GCSE). He thought that cuz his son got A's in his GCSEs every other child should have the same and if they dont....they shouldnt bother going to college.(yeah right!)

Today....I AM incollege....My teacher told the class: 'if u have well done written on ur paper...you are a grade A student.' Yep! Allah gave me an A.

So, really and truely....its a matter of going out there and saying to others:'Shuv off, cuz I can do it and wen I hav.....I'll let u know buddy.'

I intend to be a gynocologist wen I finish studies....InshAllah.

Allah ma3ak and those of you who wish to study medicene....go or it!!!

I think the deadline for your personal statement is 15th October, right? Well I've thought of some points that I hope you will find useful Insha'Allaah:

  • As someone already said, make sure you include any experience that you have and even if you havent got much, you can still expand upon it and make it sound as though its given you a lot of insight etc. Some people dont even bother getting any experience at all and make it up, which can actually work!
  • Other than that, the key point in your personal statement must be that you love working with people, that you have a caring nature and that you have always wanted to be a doctor (i.e. you didnt just make up your mind the night before!).
  • Whatever you mention in a personal statement, you need to say how it suits you for that course and what skills you have gained/what you have learnt from it.
  • Be sure to mention personal interests as this will make you different from others - try to mention interesting and unusual things, not just 'socialising' or 'watching tv'. Any extra-curricular activities would be great to mention too. Saying that you enjoy things like art and other creative things etc. to relieve stress can give you an edge for a stressful job like that of a doctor.
  • Make sure you get your statement checked by as many people as possible, including doctors and people who can improve the english and help you add things in.
  • Never mention anything that gives a negative impression of you
  • Remember that anything you say can be a potential question in the interview - so you must be prepared to talk about it!
:w:

good luck, and don't listen too much to the competition aspect of it, i think its there to scare you mostly, but if you work hard you'll get great admission, and iA that'll be what happens, good luck to you!
