my mosque wants to put in a playground and fence for the kids. at the hearing about whether or not to allow it, neighbors actually began to argue for totally shutting down to mosque.

any ideas on how to resolve the issue would be appreciated.

If the land its a private property i don't see why are you asking the neighbours :?
 
the mosque is in a historic district so any change to the exterior has to be discussed in a hearing open to the public.

the neighbors say that the mosque is ugly, the sidewalk is broken, the children are loud, it brings down the value of their homes, and the people block their driveway.

we just fixed the driveway, we can't control the kids if they have nothing to do, most of the people blocking the driveways are university students (it is on a college campus), and a playground with a fence would make the mosque look nicer.
