There is interesting question - what Israel want to achieve with their current war action in Gaza? They won't defeat Hamas, as for every dead fighter, there appeare two to replace him. It is practicly imposible to dstroy this organization, especially in such place like Gaza, where people are desperated, jobless,left without hope, where only chance for young men is to stay at home watching tv with mother or to join Hamas or Islamic Jihad. Some people say (even muslims here like Doorster) that Hamas deliberately places rocket launchers at civilian houses. As every dead palestinian civilian is succes for Hamas, who is fed by the palestinian miserable situation. But on the other hand, lets be realistic, Israel didnt suffer from some harmless rockets. Probably more people die in israel from eating overdated yogurths than from those rockets. While the cost of this was are hundreds of dead, rising popularity of Hamas and Israel own war costs. And the irony is that it was Israel who helped to create Hamas, as counter organization to secular group of Jassier Arafat.
