Peace to you Clark,
I don't know about bahais or anything but I can't help but feel that you're on the right track. I think you are a very intuitive person who can sense what is right or wrong. The urge to prostrate is telling you that this is how man can be closer to God. Muslims prostrate in prayer humbling themselves before Allah and acknowledging that He alone is worthy of worship and praise. He alone has the power to do anything and we are nothing without His Mercy and Will. By prostrating we are expressing our devotion to Him.
Qur'an, 31:18). In order to express our humility, we bow (make rukoo'), reducing ourselves to half our size, and declaring "Glory be to the One Who is Great". In the same way, in order to show Allah how "High" and "Supreme" He is, we descend to the lowest, placing our head on the ground, and declare: "Glory be to the One Who is the Highest."
The latest studies carried in Egypt in the Local Radiation Technology Center discovered that prostration before Allah frees man from physical pain, psychological Tension and other neurotic and bodily pains. The biological sciences and food radiation specialists working in the center, under the supervision of D. Muhammad Diaa Hamad, have discovered that prostration reduces fatigue, tension, headache, nervousness and anger. Prostration also plays a major role in minimizing the risk factors for cancers.
