I wrote this about half a year ago or so. I think I might have already psoted it then but I'm not sure. Today going trough some of my files I saw it again and thought I should post it, so here it is:

Prayer of Jihad

Once I wanted to fly away to a far off land
Where there are no pains and sorrows.

I pretend it’s unreal, that it all happens not.
Turn around and keep dreaming, cannot see any blood.
Let there be no red bloodstains on this white and pure cloth.

But being once with the bleeding, I can still feel their pain.
Offer help ‘cause they need it, let no life be in vain.
Appreciate the bigger picture let’s forget those small stains.

So I reach out a hand in this boiling red pool.
Let me be a brave hero, not this ordinary fool.
Let me not fall over details; nor choke on a rule.

Laugh and smile with such great ease yet inside they all rot.
Once down that road, what I saw there, how I wish I forgot.
But I still do remember and I am thankful to God.

I got help when in need, got a whole new fresh start.
As the veils were lifted I noticed I wasn’t that smart.
But by remembering my creator I found peace in my heart.

Should I bend or should I break? Should I leave or should I stay?
Inshallah I shall be forgiven, for not always finding my way.
At least I tried as I believe, at the end of the day.
