Question about living arrangements.

I'm a new Muslima, also new to this board. I have a question about housing or having roommates. Is it allowed for a Muslim male and a female be roommates if there is no intimacy or intent to it. We both live and work in a country different from our origins and we are very good friends. He teaches me more islam, the literature and we pray together a lot. I attend to one of the local mosques at least once a day (if possible) and I feel like I've finally found peace in my life. Due to high housing costs in the area, we have been discussing about possibly living together and sharing the bills. Does anyone have any input on this one. I haven't found anyone in the same situation. Thank you so much for your time.

Why do you have to share with a male? There are plenty of housing options available with females only. I know of hundreds of females who live only with females, be it Muslim or non-Muslim.

Let me rephrase the above, I don't know 'hundreds of females', but I know 'of' hundreds of females

No it isn't allowed. You can post something up at a masjid looking for female roommates, or search for a place where only females reside. But you absolutely cannot live alone with any males not your mahrem (father, brother, uncle, etc.) Make du'a inshallah and may allah grant you ease.
