Qur'an, Surah 5, Verse 48

And We have revealed to you the Book with the truth, verifying what is before it of the Book and a guardian over it, therefore judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their low desires (to turn away) from the truth that has come to you; for every one of you did We appoint a law and a way, and if Allah had pleased He would have made you (all) a single people, but that He might try you in what He gave you, therefore strive with one another to hasten to virtuous deeds; to Allah is your return, of all (of you), so He will let you know that in which you differed.

Insha'Allah reflect on this!

Qur'an, Surah 5, Verse 48

But He desires to test you in what He has given you.
So desire to excel in good deeds.
You are all to return to Allah.
.

Insha'Allah reflect on this!

After reading this over and over again, i must say that part gets to me so much... and today i kept hearing all this in a talk about how those who delay will get punished so much in hell.... why do we not hurry to good? subhanAllah, we must all start becomin more active inshaAllah!
this dunya... so insignifact... can cause us to burn forever in hell... subhanAllah...

Assalamualaikum,

MashaAllaah, beautiful ayah. Makes me really wonder how the sahabas understood it and how we understand it.

Any body got tafseer to this ayah?

JK.

Is it just me that realise that there is something fishy about this verse? Please point out to me where you got the word O Listener from? And what happened to the beginning of the Ayah? Just disappeared?

Qur'an, Surah 5, Verse 48

O Listener! Follow not that desires leaving the truth that
has come to you. We ordained a law and a way for all of
you. And if Allah had willed, He would’ve made you all a
single people (religion). But He desires to test you in what
He has given you. So desire to excel in good deeds. You
are all to return to Allah. Then He shall tell you what you
used to dispute.

Insha'Allah reflect on this!

When we qoute the Quran we have to be extra careful as this is the Speech of Allah and not just anything, if you study the text you will notice the word O Listeners has been added by some other person and not by Allah. Further more, almost half of the original verse had been edited out, once again when it comes to the Quran please be careful brothers and sisters.

salam sis mashalah i read the actual ayah its nice.. the translation is wrong tho as bro khaldun mentioned
