In today's world, media portrays Islam to be a terror religion. However, on the contrary, Quran and hadeeth specifies various verses related to peace.
In my opinion, we shouldn't be apologetic since there's no wrong in our side. Share this knowledge with the non-muslims.
Allah says in Surah 16:125
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided.

But wait, do you know what Apologist is? Apologist is someone who defends his religion from enemies and critics. There are many Christian Apologists, Muslim Apologists, Hindu Apologists and so on. We can still be Apologists, but in the same time to be also sincere and honest, how you can be Muslim Apologist? You can make articles that will debunk the so called violent verses of Quran and violent Hadith and also you can make articles in response to what the terrorists do by providing also arguments and facts that will show to non-Muslims how wrong they were about Islam.
