hi all.. i have made a blunder by chatting on social networking site. the girl who was chattng with me blackmails me that she would upload my videos and pics on porn sites. this guilt and fear is killing me. i am worried that she may upload it and also if my elders know this. please give me suggestion and how to pray for my forgiveness

How bad was it?
If it is so graphic that it can go to porn sites, I would suggest that you should respect yourself much more in the future.
But maybe it helps to aknowledge that the person that was deceiving you is the bad person here.
You - most likely - did not harm anyone but maybe yourself.
Hopefully the person threatening you grows up and lets you go on with your life.
And don't forget that the internet does not have a long memory.
It may look much worse than it is.

This is a mode of extortion in internet. A girl invite a guy to do web chat, then seduce him to naked and do shameless action in front of web camera. She record it. Then she ask money with threat if this guy doesn't pay, she will upload that video on internet.

The truly sad thing is that the victim feels guilty - for trusting someone.
So the victim often has the guilt, which he/she should not feel at all.

If you feel as though this individual is blackmailing you and threatening you report this individual to the police. You can remain anonymous and these days they are more aware of online bullying and psychological trauma caused because of it. They will take it very seriously. In sha Allah.

Try and gather information about this individual i.e. email addresses, name, age etc (bear in mind individuals can also use pseudo details as well).

A lot of people feel comfortable online because they think they identity is untraceable but believe me, this is not the case. Near enough everything is traceable so be careful and don't do anything that you would be ashamed of.

Now that you’re aware of the consequences hopefully this will be a deterrent for you and a warning not to cross this path again in sha Allah.

What's done is done - not that am implying we should have a defeatist attitude but rather, we cannot change the past no matter how much we cry, how much we regret, how much time we spend thinking about our past etc.

What you can do is ask Allah swa for forgiveness. Also, try and respect yourself because our bodies is a gift from Allah swa and we shouldn’t be abusing ourselves in this manner.

If you want to pray for sincere forgiveness i believe you can identify sincerity if the individual asks for Allah swa forgiveness and then never returns back to the sin. This is true repentance and forgiveness.

If you feel guilt now it is most likely because of the consequences of your actions and the prospect of your family knowing. If you feel guilt in the next 2/3 months, 5 years, 10 years, until death then this is a great sign of emaan. In sha Allah, everything will work out for you but please next time be aware of your actions.

If we escape our sins in this world it is going to be on display (only Allah swa can choose to keep our sins secret) on the day of qiymaat how can we hide our sins then? Think about this. In sha Allah, this will motivate you to think twice, three, four times before you do anything bad or forbidden.

I would advice you to contact to police. Some countries have polices whose help people specially against harrassment in the internet.

OP. It's awful what is happening to you. It's hard to trust people online. That is why I would never go on a chat site or send photos of myself to anyone. You don't know who is on the other end of the computer and what might happen.

Hope you manage to get your problem sorted.
