Repenting

I know the criteria for repenting is:

1. Stop the sin
2. Make "SINCERE" intention to never commit the sin
3. Make tauba to Allah
4. Ask for forgiveness from the one you've wronged.


i was wondering:

Is there a special prayer or dua or anything we can say to repent to Allah? :?

salah at tauba - prayer of 4giveness!!

its jus basically 2 rakats of prayer & offer dem wit sincere intention & ask for repentance in ur dua....

in bukhari ders a hadiths which says "he who commits a sin, then prays 2 rakats and asks for forgiveness, it is like he has never sinned"

bout ova thins u can do, it says in many hadiths "good deeds overwash bad deeds" i.e - in muslim & bukhari ders a hadith which says " salah washes away sins, like leafs fallin frm trees" & "He who commits some evil deeds, and then turns to doing good deeds is like the man who had on him a tight-fitting coat of mail made of steel, so tight, it would almost choke him. Then he did a good deed and it opened up a little more until it became so loose as to fall off to the ground." so gud deeds wash away bad 1s, when Hadhrat Umar (ra) argued with RasoolAllah (saw) he repented, by fastin, givin zakat, and ova gud tins!!!

Allah (swt) is the all forgivin, he is the most merciful, and he says himself "turn to me in repentance, because i will forgive you" and "even if my slaves sins r as big as mountains, i will still 4giv him" and Allah (swt) says "My Mercy overcums my wrath" mashallah, so inshallah he will accept all our duas & forgive all d ummah, ameen!!

Na'am, chachaz talking about the hadith qudsi insha'Allaah:

Hadith Qudsi 34:
On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (sal Allaahu alayhi waSalam) say: Allah the Almighty said:

O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it.

It was related by at-Tirmidhi (also by Ahmad ibn Hanbal). Its chain of authorities is sound.​

Du'a & Salah the best methods!, Rememba that man that came to the Prophet [PBUH] telling him he had commited a sin, and then the Prophet [Pbuh] told him to engage in Salah with them without asking him about the sin & told him at the end that he had been forgiven, Verily ALlah is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Mericiful. Allah also decreed his mercy overcomes His anger Allahu Akbar

Matters of Repentence​

• There are numerous verses in the Qur’an extolling the virtues of seeking the forgiveness of Allah. It is an act of virtue, an act of worship in its own right. Indeed, seeking forgiveness for our sins from anyone else is an act of gross polytheism.

Allah says: “And who can forgive sins except Allah?” [Sûrah Âl `Imrân: 135]

• Allah commands us to seek his forgiveness, saying: “But ask forgiveness of your Lord, and turn unto him (in repentance): for my Lord is indeed full of mercy and loving-kindness” [Sûrah Hûd: 90]

• The Prophet (peace be upon him), was the best of all people, the most perfect in his conduct, and the most ardent in performing righteous deeds. Naturally, he the foremost in seeking the forgiveness of his Lord.

He said: “Verily I ask Allah for forgiveness more than seventy times a day.” [Sahîh al-Bukhârî (6309)]

He did this in spite of the fact that all of his sins were forgiven.

• When Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) occupied himself in prayer, he stood for such a long time that his feet would become swollen. `A’ishah asked: “O Messenger of Allah! Do you do this in spite of the fact that your earlier and later sins have been pardoned for you?”

Thereupon, he replied: “O `A’ishah! Should I not, then, be a grateful servant?” [Sahîh al-Bukhârî (1103) and Sahîh Muslim (2820), but the text is quoted as it appears in Sahîh Muslim]

• The fact that our Prophet (peace be upon him) sought Allah's forgiveness so much shows us how important it is for us to do the same. The Prophet (peace be upon him) is indeed our best example.
