Asaalamu Alaikum Wr Wb, Music is expressly prohibited in many Ahaadith. Among the dominant purposes of our beloved Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) was to destroy musical instruments. (Mishkat vol.2).

Also many of those who sing in Qawwali are Shia and brelvee and much of the lyrics contain shirk(ascribing partners to Allah) and bida'a(innovation) and Qawwali is associated with alcohol and getting drunk because of the fact that many of those who sing Qawwali are drunk aswell as those listening to it.

It is best to be safe than sorry and it is better to keep away from music as the first to sing was satan himself!
