So this will be a loooong but rewarding project, inshaAllah!

Here's the first video: 1. Specialties of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by: Sh. Yasir Qadhi

:wa:

:jz: for the interesting initiative :).

I will start the first one from next Sunday and see how it goes :ia:.

It's Sunday...woohoo!! Do you know that means?? It means today is Seerah Sunday!
So, the first episode was AH-mazing! I loved each and every second of it! I can't wait to watch the next episode...

So here are some of the points I found interesting:

1. Specialties of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
[Part 1]

Allah has raised the mentioning and remembrance of the Prophet (SAW), such that scholars like ibn Abbas say that whenever Allah is mentioned, the Prophet (Saw) is also mentioned right after.

Through history, scholars have recorded 250+ names given to Muhamamad (SAW)! Some of them include:

1. Muhammad- Being given continuous praise [Quantity]

2. Ahmad- Being given the best praise [Quality]

3. Al-Maahi-The one whom Allah erases kufr {The coming of Muhammad (SAW) wiped out kufr with the expansion of Islam}

4.Haashir-Mankind will be resurrected on Muhammad’s (SAW) footsteps (literal meaning); or after the Prophet (SAW)

5. al-Aaqib-The one who has no prophet after; the one who comes at the end (do not confuse with seal:khatum)

6. Nabi ur-Rahma-The messenger of peace

7. Nabi ut-Tawbah-The messenger of repentance; the source of repentance by believing in him (SAW) and following his (SAW) teachings

8. Muqaffa-The one who has comes after a long chain; completing the revelation from previous prophets before him (SAW)

9. Nabi um-malaahim- The messenger of trials; trials will occur during the ummah of Muhammad (SAW) [earthquakes, dajjal, coming of ISA (AS)]

~Musa (AS) predicted the name of the future prophet to be Muhammad (because Musa's nation was enormous, so the name of quantity fit)
~Isa (AS) predicted the name of the future prophet to be Ahmad (because Isa's followers were few but devoted, so the name of quality fit)

Khasaais- characteristics only given and are unique to prophet Muhammad (SAW); scholars have listed 50+
1. Final prophet of Allah: no other prophet can be the final prophet

2. Prophet-hood was decreed by Allah even before Adam (AS) existed

3. The only prophet to have been sent to all of humanity and the jinn [Adam and Nuh (AS) are purely coincidence as their ummah is their children or only one nation, they weren’t intended to be for all of humanity]

4. Allah has helped Prophet Muhammad (SAW) with roo’ub: inflicting fear upon enemies [in times of battle] even before his (SAW) presence

5. Largest ummah ever; and this ummah will be ⅔ of Jannah because of the of the quantity of followers

6. Given the most powerful miracle: Quran (even greater than splitting of the red sea, or rising of the deceased) because this is a living miracle that all of humanity has access to, and can witness

7. Night journey of isra wal miraj: the only human being to be called up to the presence of Allah (SWT), even Jibraeel stated that he, Muhammad (SAW) has to go alone once Jibraeel came to a certain point

8. The leader of all of humanity: The sayed [leader, master] of the children of Adam

9. The first human being whose grave will be cracked open at the sound of the 2nd blow of the trumpet, and the first human being to be clothed

10. He (SAW) will be given the largest haud: a pool [square in shape] The main river of Jannah and all the other rivers will split from this river

11. The first to cross over the sirat, he (SAW) will be guiding his (SAW) ummah to jannah, and he (SAW) will knock on the doors of jannah, and he (SAW) will be the first human being to enter jannah [after Adam (AS)] left it, and he (SAW) will be the one in whose name the gates of jannah will be opened when he (SAW) knocks on the door, a his (SAW) right foot will be the first to walk into jannah

12. His (SAW) ummah will be the first ummah to enter jannah, and that is only because of his speciality

13. Allah has blessed him (SAW) with the highest level of Jannah; the pinnacle point of Jannah [the scholars described jannah as a pyramid] which is immediately under the throne of Allah SWT, and this daraja (Level) is called al-fadheela: level of jannah that Allah has chosen for only one of his servants

Dua after Adhan
Oh Allah! Lord of this perfect call and this prayer to be established, grant Muhammad a high and special place in jannah (al-waseelah) and a rank above the rest of creation (al-fadheela) and raise him to a praised platform (maqaam al-mahmood) which You have promised him.

Anyone else doing this with me? I'll be looking forward to your points!! Next Sunday...Part 2!

Seerah Wednesday?? A little late...I know! I was caught up with quite a bit this past weekend! Here is what I found interesting:

2. Specialties of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
[Part 2]
The description of our beloved Prophet (SAW):

  • Face was neither fleshy nor round (ovalish)
  • Hair neither curly nor straight (wavy)
  • Skin neither dark nor light (lightish brown)
  • Neither tall nor short (medium stature)
  • Broad joints and shoulders
  • Hair usually kept till earlobes, and shaved on Hajj or Umrah
  • Full beard
  • Thin line of hair on chest till navel, otherwise very little hair
  • Dark pupils
  • Hands described as soft velvet
  • Fragrant perspiration
  • Seal of prophethood: patch of hair, colored differently than Prophet Muhammad's (SAW), on back, in between shoulder blades

Some sahabi considered the beauty of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as the shining sun, and some considered him (SAW) as beautiful, if not more beautiful, than the full moon.
His (SAW) face brought awe in the eyes of the beholder.

Mannerisms:

  • Swift and brisk walk as if going down a mountain.
  • When he (SAW) would be called upon, he (SAW) would turn his whole torso to greet or answer the calling person
  • Jokes and amusements with wives, friends, young and old

Asalamualykum,

Jazahka Allah for typing your notes.

It's a blessing to know that Prophet SAW nation will be the first ummah to enter Jannah. Alhamdulilah, we are very blessed.
