For those of you who know about my ongoing situation.... past couple of nights for shaab e raat I increased my ibadah, stayed awake til late and made extra prayers for me, my family, muslims around the world (specifically for those that deserved Allah swt Rahma) and off course I made specific dua to Allah swt, the just, the judge, the one who knows the truth... to punish my oppressor, my enemy so that he may expiate their sins and get them to stop their acts of intimidation and persecution. This prayer is invoked daily anyway without miss and will continue to do so until it is resolved...

some people say we should not have any form of enmity in this night? I got no choice I need Allah swt help? Been asking for it for some time now.... I prayed the same in previous mid shabaan's for assistance and rescue...

Question is, is my prayer valid? Clearly I have an enemy.

Jazak Allah

Brother 'Imran,

Hatred against a muslim

'...It was narrated from Abu Moosa al-Ash’ari that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah looks down on the night of the fifteenth of Sha’baan and forgives all his creation except a mushrik or one who harbours hatred against the Muslims.” Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 1390.

The “one who harbours hatred against the Muslims” means one who has enmity towards a Muslim brother.

In al-Zawaa’id it says: Its isnaad is da’eef, because ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Lahee’ah is da’eef (weak) [...].

There is also some idtiraab (weakness) in the hadeeth, as stated by al-Daaraqutni in al-‘Ilal, 6/50, 51. He said: This hadeeth is not proven.

It was narrated from Mu’aadh ibn Jabal, [...] and others, but the isnaads are not free of some weakness, and some of them are very weak..." [SUP]1
[/SUP]

The middle of sha'bān or ´shab-e-barāt´:

"...Praise be to Allaah.

It is not prescribed in Islam to celebrate the night of the fifteenth of Sha‘baan, whether that is by spending the night in prayer, dhikr and reading Qur’aan, or by distributing sweets or giving food to people and so on.

It is not known in the saheeh Sunnah that this night is to be singled out for acts of worship or customs.

The night of the fifteenth of Sha‘baan is just like any other night...." [SUP]2
