I have a question to do major shirk do you have to actually pray to another god and actually do stuff physically or can it also be mentally like acting like a Muslim but having these bad thoughts

If thoughts are a waswas illness and you didn't mean it, then 'shirk thoughts' wouldn't constitute shirk and will be excused. Just try to ignore them and cut them out with zikr
