IslamicBoard has joined the SHUKR Islamic Clothing affiliate program. Our members had been recommending new Muslims and all those looking for online Islamic clothing to purchase them from Shukr clothing since 2005.
If you are looking for something to purchase for Eid, then hurry up because their last day for Eid shipping is 28 June.

Shukr has so many lovely things. Unfortunately they cost a lot! :/
Assalamu Alaikum,
Shukr clothes are the price they are because that's what they cost to make. They use quality materials (lots of fabric) and pay their workers living wages, not pennies a day.
Check their clearance section and buy a few skirts at a time. That's what I do. I still have some of their first collection of skirts from like 6 or 7 years ago that I could still theoretically wear (if I fit into them :exhausted).
No, I do not work for shukr, I'm just a huge fan. I wear a shukr skirt every day of the week, paired with a long sleeve top that I buy from department stores.
One way to spice up a wardrobe for not very much money is different scarves. I wear all black a lot - black skirt, black shirt, black socks, black shoes - and then wear a different color scarf. Makes it look like a somewhat different outfit.

If I ever want to find new modest clothing stores, I just head over to the Modest Clothes Directory. the sister who runs it does a fantastic job of keeping up with new websites as they pop up.
I buy most of my clothing from Shukr ...
Shukr is wonderful. The clothes always fit me. It is the only online clothes store I buy from. Yes, they are a little expensive but the clothes are of very high quality.

WassalamuAlaykum
I am not Muslim (yet?), however I do dress very modestly (long skirts or baggy pants, long tunics, etc.) and buy my clothes from places like Shukr. Well, it turns out that long skirts and tunics are quite popular in the USA if you go to stores like Marshalls, Ross, etc. These, for the non Americans among us, are discount stores where you can buy good clothing cheap. I saw another thread where a sister was not able to dress properly because her mother did not want to spend money on new clothes. For anyone with this concern, if you live in a place with these stores you might want to visit. :thumbs_up

What religion do you belong to? - I'm a muslim, alhamdulilah
What education do you have? - I have a bachelors degree in political science with an emphasis in religious studies, and a paralegal certificate
Do you wear a hijab(only head covering), full burka(complete body covering including face), Chaddar/burqa(complete body covering but not the face) or just modest clothes with no traditional garments. - I wear shukr. Literally, that's my style. I'll wear a shukr skirt, a long sleeve shirt (tshirt on the weekend) plus a scarf.
Do you work outside the home? If yes, then what do you do? - yes. I'm a paralegal (ie a lawyers assistant). After college, I had no clue what I wanted to do. I thought perhaps I'd like to be a lawyer, so I thought better see how it is to be a lawyer first. Thus, I studied to be a paralegal. Now I'm pretty darn sure I don't want to be a lawyer. Don't really know what I do want to do though :hmm:
You could wear kurthis with pants and pashminas. Google "kurthi and pants" and go to images and you can find many styles.
