'Ali Ibnu Abu Taalib said:
" يَا حَمَلَةَ الْعِلْمِ ، اعْمَلُوا بِهِ ، فَإِنَّمَا الْعَالِمُ مَنْ عَمِلَ بِمَا عَلِمَ ، وَوَافَقَ عَمَلُهُ عِلْمَهُ ، وَسَيَكُونُ أَقْوَامٌ يَحْمِلُونَ الْعِلْمَ لا يُجَاوِزُ تَرَاقِيَهُمْ ، تُخَالِفُ سَرِيرَتُهُمْ عَلانِيَتَهُمْ ، وَيُخَالِفُ عَمَلُهُمْ عِلْمَهُمْ ، يَجْلِسُونَ حِلَقًا ، فَيُبَاهِي بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا ، حَتَّى أَنَّ أَحَدَهُمْ لَيَغْضَبُ عَلَى جَلِيسِهِ حِينَ يَجْلِسُ إِلَى غَيْرِهِ وَيَدَعُهُ ، أُولَئِكَ لا تَصْعَدُ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِي مَجَالِسِهِمْ تِلْكَ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ "
“Oh carriers of knowledge! Implement your knowledge because the true scholar is the one who learns and then applies what he learns, he whose actions are in line with his knowledge.
But there will come a time however when the knowledge of people will not travel beyond their throats. Their private affairs will contradict their public affairs, and their actions will contradict their knowledge. You will see them sitting in study circles but they'll be boasting over one another. Eventually, you’ll see one of them becoming angry with his companion if he leaves his gathering to sit in that of another.
The actions of such people within these circles will most definitely not reach Allah.”

If you're actively teaching the Deen of Allah, you're expected to be the cream of the crop, an exemplary in the public domain,
appearance/conduct/habits/humility/patience wise
And more importantly, an exemplary in your private domain when curtains are drawn and its just you and your Creator.
