As the bashing in of Islam and Muslims escalates, we will continue to see those who unclothe themselves entirely from the garments of Islam and turn back on their heels, hoping that by doing this, they will score points with the adversaries of Deen.
Whilst others may not choose to exit the fold of Islam, but their adamancy towards the Sunnah will begin to noticeably weaken, their appearance will begin to change and their views, despite them being founded upon very valid premise, begin taking major u-turns.
Many a times, this is for the exact same reason as noted above:
Hoping to score points with those who seem to have the upper hand.
Allah said,
فَتَرَى الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ يُسَارِعُونَ فِيهِمْ يَقُولُونَ نَخْشَى أَنْ تُصِيبَنَا دَائِرَةٌ فَعَسَى اللَّهُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ بِالْفَتْحِ أَوْ أَمْرٍ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ فَيُصْبِحُوا عَلَى مَا أَسَرُّوا فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ نَادِمِينَ
"So you see those in whose hearts is disease racing into association with them, saying, "We are afraid that a misfortune may strike us!" But perhaps Allah will bring conquest or a decision from Him, and then they will become regretful for what they had been harbouring secretly within themselves." (Al-Qur'an)
Beg Allah to help you and I to stand our grounds.
