no, don't leave work, you can do both you know.
also, niqabs are not mandatory.

salam bro I work In a hospital and just about to start my nursing so I couldnt really??? And also niqab I really want to wear Inshallah

May Allah make it clear for you, amin. Nursing is such a good career sister, all the ppl you will help etc, you have to decide which is more beneficial for Allah and your deen. Both things are beuatiful and acts of worship, if you decide to cover your head there is covers that math uniforms, if you decide to cover completley there is jobs in hospital that do not involve patient contact that are equally as important, however if you feel compelled to nursing then insha'Allah it is right for you. Allahs blessings be upon you for choosing between two great ways to serve Allah, Amin:thumbs_up

I have done some time on mental health wards during nurse training, i think that anyone who cando it should be encouraged as its not easy, also seems to be a shortage of muslims in the feild

Sista, u shud be able to work wit ur hijab just fine. If anybody speaks against it ignore them, as they cant fire u for covering. It wud be religious discrimantion, which is against the law.

May I also suggest that u put the Niqaab off for a bit n start with Hijab. This way u get to keep ur job n preserve ur modesty InshaAllah.:sunny:

My understanding is that the sister is not even wearing her hijab yet, but she's thinking of wat can happen if she wears niqaab. So I just adviced her to start of wit Hijab, n put the Niqaab off for a bit, I didn't say don't wear it. At this point Hijab has more priority.

Exactly Bro alcurad.....

Starting with Niqab (which I believe not to be mandatory) is not a good idea, take it step by step......

start with the obligatory (Hijab) and when you feel to do more go ahead to Niqab....

and more and more important ,is keeping Salat and treat people with Islamic morals....

May Allah bless you always...

sister pray salat al-istikarh and ask Allah to guide u to the best decision amiiin ...

Agreed. The sister needs to cover her hair before she covers her face.

Sister, I work in a nursing field of sorts and wear hijab. It is working out great and have not had any issues thusfar, Alhamdulilah. I strongly suggest you start with hijab and then go from there. I also would like to wear niqaab full time but it doesn't deem to be appropriate for me at this point in the work that I do (I work primarily with women, but their husbands are involved at times as well and will start working with men and women both soon). Niqaab is not mandatory but hijab is, so please don't hesitate on this issue.

With that said, our Imam over here once told me that converts and those who are trying to boost their imaan are like a bull in the desert. The bull sees some water and tries to jump in to absorb it all at once. This is a good thing, but then again, it is not. Islam should be taken fully in, but not jumping in all together. If you start with niqaab, you will see too many difficulties and shaitan may lead you away from covering entirely (May Allah Protect you from that). Start with what is mandatory first and then go from there.

And above all, seek guidance from Allah(swt) for this. Keep us updated though on how it goes (you can pm me if you like--I just remembered I was a member here and am making this my home page so I will access more often).

bismillah

Sister,

This is what I would advise you. I would not say don't wear the niqaab, nor will I say go ahead and do it. Allaah knows best.

As sister Liya recommended, pray salat-ul istikharah, continue to seek counsel, and then choose the best option you feel drawn to--and trust in Allaah.

I would also mention that to make changes gradually and not all at once--unless you are comfortable with the changes you are considering making.

May Allaah Almighty make the choice easy for you and may He (swt) keep you firm upon the truth and protect all the Muslims and free the captives.

Ameen.

And Allaah knows best.
