Tahiyyatul-Masjid forbidden, while quran recitation

Assalamalaikum,

is it forbitten to pray Tahiyyatul-Masjidwhen you approached into the masjid and Imam is recitation some of Quran? Or should you wait until he is finished? Because you have actually pray it before you sit down.
 
Sallam,

I only hear differing opinions on the matter of the sermon being given, whether it is or not. But as far as quran is being recited, I haven't heard this.
