Tibet's exiled Buddhist spiritual leader, appearing at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, offered a defence of Islam in response to a question about the rise of violent religious fundamentalism.

We as Muslims would always welcome the Dalai Lama to embrace Islam and have Muslim monks alongside us to be treated as brothers as commanded by our faith.

The question was Violent Religious Fundamentalism - but why the Dalai answer it and link it to Islam . The question is'nt Islam Voilent Religious Fundamentalism. The Dalai should know it that Islam does not have monopoly over Violence !!!!!!!!

The article actually says it was "a question about the rise of violent religious fundamentalism". We have no idea if that question was purely, or partially, in the specific context of Islam or not.
