Same reason the enemy of Ahl al-Sunnah Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah hate him. SO far I have found no problem with what he preached.

It is mainly some sufi's and people of innovation & Shirk hate him and the western orientalist propagate mis-information as if he preached something foreign to Quran and Sunnah. I am sure you heard of the word "w'ahhabi".
