Greetings,

Some mildly interesting things in this list, but I'm not sure how valuable some of them are. Plus there's this one:

This is nonsense. It's a bit of a mystery as to why anyone would believe this.

See here.

Peace

I feel so enlightened..thank you.

(Lol....im not sure why that sounds sarcastic...its not meant to anyway!)

G.S: congrats - apparently that is an achievement. :D

...i've been trying to fold stuff since i read somewhere recently that some lady succeded in folding a towel more than 7 times...which had not, so they say...been done before....:mmokay:

I've been stuck on the 8th fold ...
is it possible to make it stay folded without holding it down?

Or maybe it's just farts?
On one of the World's Got Talent episode, there was a Russian young fella who could spurt milk out of his eyes. It's kinda gross.

Hmmm, I just tried with a relatively thick good quality paper and couldn't do more than 6, but with a thinner paper -with my maths calculations on it- I managed to fold it 7.5 times. Now I only need to hammer it to make it 8.

What they mean is, fold it into two halves. like fold an A3 into A4 format, then fold it again in the same way, after about 6 or 7 folds, the pack should become to thick to fold any further regardless of the size you started with. This is because the thickness doubles exponentially.
no folds -> thickness of one paper
1 fold -> thickness of 2 papers
2 folds -> thickness of 4 papers
3 folds -> thickness of 8 papers
4 folds -> thickness of 16 papers
5 folds -> thickness of 32 papers
6 folds -> thickness of 64 papers
7 folds -> thickness of 128 papers
trying to fold that is like trying to fold a small paperback book. I guess maybe if you start with a sheet of paper the size of a football-field, you could pull it off since fold-ability increases over size (since you can spread the curve longer).

Then
8 folds-> thickness of 256 papers
9 folds-> thickness of 512 papers
10 folds-> thickness of 1,024 papers
11 folds-> thickness of 2,048 papers

indeed as the diagram illustrates, I wasn't thinking of it in abstract terms of folding, your ability to achieve more folds has more to do with the paper type than the way you fold. If you get a notebook paper you can fold up to 8 with great difficulty, with very thin rice paper you can fold it up to 8 with ease and not have it unfold back of course it could potentially break in the process but that is a different story all together..

Interesting. Thanks for this information.
Young coconuts water is a favourite drink in tropical beaches and that is a natural isotonik drink. I like it.:thumbs_up
