The general motive of US international influence, officially recognized, is to obtain predictable world, free of erratic autocratic and totalitarian systems.

Observing US international influence during latest decades, it become obvious, that in many cases this influence leads to the opposite result. Why does it happen?

One can distinguish few major trends of US influence. Some, especially supported by enthusiasts and volunteers, may works well.

The worst one, fueled by the secrecy and ignorance in regard of alien cultures, is creating the network of puppets, in hope to gain control over them and therefore the control over the countries as whole.
The mistake is, that these puppets, naturally most corrupted ones, getting their power because of foreign support, having no natural domestic support, have to base their volatile power on the corruption as well.
These leads to the growing unrest and turns them to dictators, which need external enemies and even wars to keep their power.

Where as autocratic or totalitarian leaders which are not erratic, and are pro American are perfectly fine and better in their eyes than anyone, even the most just who are anti-American.

Would need to take a quick look at the PNAC documents to understand that there is utter confusion and dissonance between differing stated aims.

This is interesting, it said PNAC was established in 1997 only, but i include Russia in to the list of their failures. May be, what happen to Russia, premature joy of it 'democratization', inspired them to create this think tank and try this experience on other countries. Thanks, will take a closer look.
Btw, now there are many other think tanks, CATO in example, which are strongly opposing current policy in many ways but seems don't have any influence on government.
