Was the clothing of the prophet (saw) closer in resembalance to the thobe or kamiz?

aslaam alaykum, I was just wondering, is the way the prophet (saw) would dress closer to the thobes that are worn today? Or are shalware kamiz more closer to the type of outfit the prophet (saw) would wear?
