In the northern part of Malaysia, all family members and relatives MUST wash the dead... only family members would do the washing from A to Z guided by a someone who well-versed in the washing of the dead.

We also MUST shroud the dead with white cloth OURSELVES.

I think it's a good idea as all of the family members have to do something good to the dead instead of just crying.
