Ur right, we r not that serious abt Islam as we r abt cricket.

For eg, "ME", since the ICC world cup started, I have just two things to do on net, check the ICC World Cup thread n check Cricinfo...nothing else.

B4 I'd check many Islamic things n threads on islamic board, now it's low.
 
:sl: good ques.....it's soo annoyin...so many people were mega upset wen Bob Woolmer died...I know this is abit off topic but aint Muslims got better things to be worried about? about the topic.....we could train animals to chuck balls and play cricket.....why dont they use their time in a more productive way...c'mon..we gotta live to die :w:

The difference is that crickets only for a limited span of time, but islaam is for life. It's hard to be 100% commited probably, thats why.


PS: Who's seen chacha cricket? Does he still come to the matches?

I am a Pakistani. I take exception to this thread and this reply. blanket statements do no good whatsoever. I can easily say same thing about you people,when I see certain threads. even in public forums here people like trumble are prefered to Muslim brothers by a mod or 2, does that mean all Staff like budhism more than Islaam?
or judging from holywood thread am I free to assume that you people prefer arnie schwartzzenegger to Abu Bakr/Omer/Uthman/Ali?

I'm Pakistani too. Sorry if I offended you. I was just speaking my mind. I know not every Pakistani is more interested in cricket than Islam, but I'm sure you'll agree that entirely too many take cricket more seriously than Islam.
 
Agree with noname55, at the end of the day there are Pakistanis that take Islam much more seriously then cricket that doesn't mean they're not allowed to watch it.

For me I watch cricket sometimes mainly at a world cup, if they lose they lose they win they win. While the match is taking place i'll root for Pakistan but when it finishes all go about my business, I wont exactly go on a hunger strike.

well guess what? i'm pakistani and i hate cricket lol
when my uncle/dad or friends talk about cricket scores i get confused coz i dnt understand them so they get annoyed with me coz they have to explain all the time :-[

I know that this would not apply to all Pakistanis, so that is why I said at the beginning that "many" Pakistanis, not "all"

jus cos pak out of WC, it dnt mean ppl feel more passionately bout cricket den islam! bein pakistani moiself and bein a cricket hooligan sure i was upset bout WC, but it dint make me lose any passion or luv 4 islam, cos dats 4 life. and pak losin was will of Allah swt, so sud b hapy wit his wil


this thred is lik this imagine my aunt got shot (god forbid) and obvisly il b upset, den sum1 says i more passionite bout aunt getin shot den islam!!! der no logic

I would say the greatest trick the devil pulled was convincing people they have all the time in the world to watch cricket, especially pakistani muslims.
 
this is doesn't apply only to Pakistanis, but as a Bengali, we're not doing so well either.
I was in bangladesh last summer during the world cup...almost every house had a flag (the country they supported) on their roof. Not only that these people stayed up at night watching these games. sooo much to distract us from Allah.
