Surah Ash-Sharh (The Relief)
Pronunciation
Verse 1: A-lam nash-rah laka sadrak
Verse 2: Wa wa d'a-na 'an-ka wiz-rak
Verse 3: Al-la-zeee an-qada zah-rak
Verse 4: Wa ra-f'a-na laka zik-rak
Verse 5: Fa in-na ma-'al us-ri yus-raa
Verse 6: In-na ma-'al 'us-ri yus-ra
Verse 7: Fa i-za fa-ragh ta fan-sab
Verse 8: Wa i-laa rab-bika far ghab
Translation
Verse 1: Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast?
Verse 2: And We removed from you your burden
Verse 3: Which had weighed upon your back
Verse 4: And raised high for you your repute.
Verse 5: For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
Verse 6: Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
Verse 7: So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship].
Verse 8: And to your Lord direct [your] longing.
