I am making this thread for voting to see what operating system most of us are using.
Are you pleased with your Operating System or not and why?

Windows XP, I am happy with it. I was recently interested in buying Vista, until the guy we went to said "No, don't buy it. Small differences for a big price, it's not worth it."(£200-£300 I think it was).
What an honest guy!

Though i have XP i prefer to go for 2000 pro.

and i also have a plan of trying how a mac will perform.

as far as the OS that i have used i feel myself more comfortable on Win2000 pro
 
I am using Windows XP, but I am thinking about having a new machine with Vista

I had once Windows XP but I was not so well with it!
It was just boring to me!I had always some problems with it!
But now I have VISTA and I am very happy wit it.
There is more security,fun,a lot of multimedia stuffs,safe files if your computer goes sometimes wrong!
A lot of new things........

i am your opposite. i have XP and like it very much. sometimes i use a laptop that has vista and i don't like vista at all!
 
I have XP pro. I actually like 98SE better. But I'm finally getting used to XP. I did a check on Vista and found out that almost all of my programs are not compatible with it.

I really like Linux, I did install it on one of my HD's on this PC but I keep forgetting to select it on the rare occasions I restart the PC.

Windows XP mainly but allthough few of my laptops are Vista
 
Aw come on guys; am I the only one who uses Ubuntu Linux? I also use XP. I'd never use Vista though; the OS is a failure.
 
I agree with snakelegs, I don't like Vista AT ALL!!

Really frustrating that most things are not compatible. My neighbours and my aunt have it and it drives me crazy! lol

I prefer XP, which is what I'm using.

Me too, have vista basic ed. on a 3Gb ram Athlon64x2 ran ok,
but when used on a 1Gb was quite slow..

The other thing is it's restrictive, some advanced functionalities that you'd have in windows xp or below you won't get them in vista basic.

Such as an advance user management!
You can't make a user join a certain custom group, he can only be either a user or an administrator. no other than that.

The graphics is ok, though.
I'd give it 6,5 out of 10.
